CSS Teens & Screens 2022

#Authenticity

CSS seeks to understand teens' perspectives of the entertainment media content they consume. In 2022, we designed a survey that asked teens what topics they wish to see in the content they watch, and which kinds of media feel more authentic to them. We took the main findings from this survey and created the CSS Teens & Screens 2022 report, the first of an annual report series that will detail teen attitudes and habits surrounding media. Read more about it in Deadline and IndieWire.

CSS Teens & Screens 2022 highlights four main findings from the our teen survey, including the one above. Download the report to see the full list of findings.

The Teen Voice

CSS Teens & Screens 2022 provides teens the opportunity to have their voices heard by the entertainment community on a larger scale. CSS seeks to amplify this generation that has a lot to say about the media that they consume and how it relates to their perceptions of the world around them. In addition to gathering the teen voice on a larger scale, CSS also works with a dedicated group of high school students through our Youth Media REPresentation (YMR) program to teach them how to conduct research in their communities and share their findings.
