Second-Screen Media and Teen Mental Health Report
CSS conducted two studies investigating how story-related, second-screen content supports teen conversations and improves mental health knowledge, attitudes, and information-seeking behaviors.
CSS seeks to understand whether and how stories can support youth in their pursuit of mental wellness. This report, which details our findings, is a follow-up to the first report in our research program.
Our results demonstrate that second-screen content, or supplemental content related to the story, offers additional information and resources beyond the show in order to positively support youth mental health.
Our research team shared the findings from this report in the March 2023 issue of the Behavior Therapist journal. Click here to read the issue.
