Media & Teen Mental Health Report

CSS conducted two studies investigating how the popular teen-targeted show 13 Reasons Why may affect adolescent mental health.

CSS seeks to understand whether and how stories can support youth in their pursuit of mental wellness. This report, which details our findings, is the first step in our research program.

Our results demonstrate that challenging and realistic stories inspire youth to learn more about mental health.
